New Zealand

As we were thinking about a trip to New Zealand, friends suggested that we do an "air cruise" (i.e. a small, private plane tour).  They had seen NZ that way and highly recommended it.  Finding that sort of trip appealing, we too signed on for a tour operated by Bill Peach Journeys and cannot say enough about how wonderful it was in every way.  Our 12 seat Cessna Caravan had nine of us roaming all over both islands, with an average of one hour flying time on the travel days, and at very low altitudes so that we could really see and enjoy the spectacular scenery that is New Zealand.  It's hard to choose, but particular highlights for David and me included Mount Cook, the Dart River;  the Regent Hotel in Rotorua;  #7 Balmac Street Restaurant in Dunedin, the Sauvignon Blancs in Marlboro, and the Arbitrageur Wine Bar in Wellington.
