Cordoba, Spain
Alcazar Moorish Palace |
There's a sexy little
hotel in the exquisite city of Cordoba called Hotel Viento 10. It's on the edge of the
old city, which is much quieter than the center. Very modern, but very
comfortable, and the breakfast is divine--perfect croissants with Seville orange
marmalade, bread spread with crushed tomatoes and olive oil, fresh orange juice
from an organic farm and coffee as only the Spanish can make it. Rooms are
small, but cozy, with modern decor. The shower has multiple sprays, and I could
have stayed there all day. Courtyard is light-washed and punctuated with 15th
century columns. The wall behind the sink in our room is also 14th or 15th
century with a brick arch. Bed, as Goldilocks would say, is just right. The
owner is extremely helpful and fun to talk to. My Spanish is bad, but his
English is good. Google Hotel Ventou 10 to get the site, and you can reserve on
line. Best part is that the rooms are less than 100 Euros and the breakfast is 6
Euros but worth twice that.
